At Roade Village Academy, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are fully committed to ensuring that all students feel safe, valued and supported, and that they are able to learn and thrive in a secure and caring environment.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, governors, volunteers and visitors have a role to play in keeping children safe and promoting their welfare. We work together to create a strong culture of vigilance, care and support, where concerns are taken seriously and acted upon appropriately.
Our approach is underpinned by our school values of Respect, Value and Aspire. We respect every child as an individual, value their voice and experiences, and support them to aspire to be confident, resilient and successful young people.
We follow statutory safeguarding guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children, and we work closely with families, external agencies and safeguarding partners to provide the right support at the right time.
All staff receive regular safeguarding training and know how to identify and report concerns. Our safeguarding procedures include robust safer recruitment practices, clear reporting systems, support for students’ wellbeing, online safety education, and a proactive approach to identifying risks both in and outside of school.
